Super Mario 64 auction sets record

It’s been 25 years since the release of the video game Super Mario 64, but the nostalgia has not worn off. An unopened copy of the cartridge just set a new record, selling at auction for more than $1.5 million. The record sale for the most expensive video game at auction likely wasn’t for game play — Nintendo has rereleased Super Mario 64, the newer Switch gaming console. But, as memorabilia, Mario 64 is indeed super.
